About The Doctor
My passion for medicine comes from an early age and from watching my dad practice in his office. I saw that my dad was more than a dentist in the eyes of his patients and I was inspired by his motivation and care for his patient. I saw first hand how he made a difference in the life of his patients not only in the field of oral health, but many other concerns as well. My family and I moved to United States when I was 11 years old. One summer before I started medical school, I traveled back with my dad to his old office and I was amazed how after 14 years, his patients recognized him, thanked him for all he did for them. I knew then that that’s the relationship I wanted to have with my future patients. I promised myself, I would be involved in my patients’ lives; I would listen and see more than their symptoms.
I attended Western Washington University and graduated with a degree in Chemistry and Environmental Sciences. Keeping my goal and promise in mind, I attended Bastyr University’s 4-year Naturopathic Medicine program in Kenmore, Washington, the leading naturopathic medical school in the country, with training focused in primary care medicine.
I am the founder and medical director of the Innate Medicine, a family medical practice that integrates the root of ancient medicine with the philosophies of modern medicine with the goal of promoting health. This idea of interactive medicine in which patients always come first and are part of their health care, stems from my learning and watching my dad practice in his office.
Keeping true to my promise, I am dedicated to hear my patient’s stories, to truly listen and create a warm, welcoming and trusting environment. To be more than just their doctor, but their health advocate, coach and support. To put the health of my patients above all and strive enhance their quality of life emotionally, physically and spiritually. In doing so, I will treat and see more than just the presenting symptoms and I will address the cause of your health issues. In my practice, I work with people of all ages and although I practice general adult care medicine, I enjoy helping my patient improve their energy, deal with acute and chronic illnesses, improve their overall health and physical condition. I look forward to working with you to reach your long term health goals. In this journey we will live, love and laugh, and together we will reach your true health potential.
With love and Hope,
Dr. Mohammad Shegeft
